inspired by indigenous people around the world. All crafts are created in a manner

of traditional tribal and Native American styles and techniques no matter what era

or region the work originates from. Until approximately one hundred years ago,

indigenous art was a form of religious expression and a kind of shorthand used to

record personal and tribal histories, cultural roots and tribal identities . . .

Painting was part of a lifestyle in which art permeated every aspect of life from

birth to death. Then, under the pressures and stresses of their disintegrating

world, these peoples transformed painting into an expressive and vital art form.

This kind of expressive painting and record keeping became a spiritual affirmation of

"tribalness" and the most innovative and creative of any of the forms of art anywhere.

Tribal art is by nature deeply spiritual and symbolic. My primary focus is items

related to the art and history of the earth’s first residents;

to share with you the viewer the traditions of the past reflected in the present.
